# Akshay Kumar‘s birth name is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia. He was born in Amritsar, Punjab on 9th Sep 1967.
#He obtained a black belt in Taekwondo and later he wnet to Thailand to learn Muay Thai. During his stay in Thailand he worked as a waiter and chef for his livelihood.
# After coming back from Thailand he started martial arts school and one of his students who was a photographer recommended him to do modelling. In his first assignment for posing two hours before camera Akshay got Rs. 5,000 and his monthly salary was Rs. 4,000 then. It was that moment he decided to be in fassion and movies. After working for many small projects he landed in movies.
# His bollywood debut was with Saugandh in 1991 and his biggest commercial successful career started with “Khiladi series”.
# Akshay dated many co-stars during his early life. He had very long time relationship with Shilpa Shetty and Raveena Tandon. Later he was engaged to Twinkle Khanna and married her on 17th Jan 2001. The couple have a son named Aarav born in 2002 and they are expecting their second child in September 2012.
# Akshay still aggressively practices kickboxing, Karate and Muay Thai. Apart from martial arts he spends lot of time for basketball, swimming and gym.
# In 2008 Akshay was named the “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine India.
# In 2009 Akshay was awarded “Katana” the highest Japanese honour.
