*   Alec Baldwin was born on 3rd April 1958 in Long Island, New York, United States to Carolyn Newcomb, a teacher and Alexander Rae Baldwin Jr, a football coach.

*   His birth name is Alexander Rae Baldwin III and he is credited shortly as Alec Baldwin in films.

*   Baldwin has three brothers, Daniel, William, Stephen and two sisters, Beth Baldwin Keuchler & Jane Baldwin Sasso. All his brothers are also actors and all of them are younger brothers.

*   He attended “Alfred G. Berner High School” in Massapequa. He was a good football player while at school. Later he studied acting at “Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute” in New York.

*   Baldwin made his stage debut with “Loot” in 1986. He later appeared in several plays including Serious Money and A Streetcar Named Desire.

*   He made his Television debut with “The Doctors” in 1980

*   Baldwin entered films with “Forever, Lulu” in 1987. His biggest first commercial success came with Pearl Harbor in 2001 and the movie grossed $449,220,945/- at box office.

*   Baldwin also worked for radio in 2009 and 2011. He hosted The New York Philharmonic This Week and Here’s the Thing radio series.

*   Baldwin met actress Kim Basinger during the filming of “The Marrying Man” in 1990 and they dated for two years before marrying in 1993. The couple have a daughter Ireland Baldwin, born in 1995. Basinger filed divorce petition in 2001 and it was finalized in 2002.

*   Baldwin started to date Hilaria Thomas, a Yoga instructor in 2011 and they married on 30th June 2012 at “St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral” in New York.

*   Baldwin along with Mark Tabb published a book titled “A Promise to Ourselves” in 2008, which contains detailed events of his struggle to remain part of his daughter’s life.

*   Apart from movies he also worked for several charity organizations. He is a strong supporter of PETA, People for the American Way, Save the Manatee Club
