Amitabh Bachchan biography / trivia
* Amitabh Bachchan was born on 11th Oct 1942 in Allahabad to Harivansh Rai Bachchan, a poet and Teji Bachchan, a social activist.
* Although his family surname was Shrivastava Harivansh Rai adopted pen name Bachchan and hence the surname continued.
* Amitabh Bachchan has a younger brother named Ajitabh Bachchan.
* Amitabh married Jaya Bhaduri on 3rd June 1973, they gave birth to two children Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Nanda.
* His daughter Shweta is married to Nikhil Nanda,an industrialist.
* Abhishek Bachchan married Aishwarya Rai on 20th April 2007 and the couple gave birth to a baby girl named Aaradhya Bachchan.
* He entered politics in 1984 as a MP of 8th Lok Sabha from Allahabad but after three years he resigned as he didn’t like it. But his name was included in “Bofors scandal”, however he was found innocent in the case.
* Amitabh Bachchan made his film debut with Saat Hindustani in 1969 alongside Utpal Dutt and Madhu.
* Samajwadi party leader Amar Singh helped Bachchan during his financial crisis hence he has great gratitude towards him and he participates in political campaigns with him. His wife Jaya Bachchan became Rajya Sabha member after joining Samajwadi Party.
* Stardust and other noted magazines have imposed 15 years ban against Bachchan due to some serious misunderstandings.
* He established an entertainment company Amitabh Bachchan Corporation, Ltd. (A.B.C.L.) in 1996 which had a vision to deal with film production, distribution, video discs, audio, event management etc. But due to heavy losses incurred in Miss World beauty pageant 1996,in Bangalore the company was shut down in 1997.
* He hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati on STAR Plus in 2000 it was a huge hit and it was this show which helped him a lot during his financial crisis.
* During his career he won several awards including Filmfare Awards, National Film Awards, Padma Shri and Legion of Honour from France Government.
