*    Amrita Arora was born on 31st Jan 1981 in Chembur, Maharashtra to Anil Arora, a Punjabi & Joyce Polycarp,a Malayali.

*    Her schooling was done in at “Loreto Convent”, Mumbai.

*    Bollywood actress Malaika Arora is her elder sister, she is married to actor Arbaaz Khan who is the brother of Salman Khan.

*    Amrita married Shakeel Ladak, a businessman & the couple gave birth to two sons Azaan [2010] and Rayaan [2012].

*    Amrita was romantically linked to Kevin Otter, Ashmit Patel, Upen Patel and Usman Afzaal before marrying Shakeel Ladak.

*    Amrita entered Bollywood in 2002 with Kitne Door Kitne Paas opposite Fardeen Khan, but the film was a commercial failure.

*    Her most controversial film till date is Girlfriend in 2004 alongside Isha Koppikar. The movie is about lesbian relationship between Isha Koppikar and Amrita Arora. There was a huge opposition to the release of movie and some states like Orissa called for complete ban on the film.

*    She successfully lost some considerable weight for her role in film ‘Mera Bharat Mahaan’, Amrita said, “It’s true that I am losing weight but am not going on a crash diet. This time I am doing a lot of yoga and toning up. That will work wonders for me.”

*    She endorsed reputed products like Ponds, Elle 18, Sunsilk Fruitamins, After Smoke etc.

*    Apart from films she also worked as a VJ on MTV and she was famous for her shows like MTV House full, Mtv Chillout etc.
