Daniel Radcliffe biography facts
# Daniel Radcliffe’s birth name is Daniel Jacob Radcliffe. He was born on 23rd July 1989 in London, England to Alan George Radcliffe and Marcia Jeannine Gresham. His father served as a literary agent and his mother is a casting agent.
# Radcliffe’s parents are from different religion, his father is Protestant while his mother is a Jewish and hence Radcliffe was raised in a secular way having no religion.
# He attended two schools namely Sussex House School & City of London School. After his Harry Potter release it was difficult for him to attend school due to his hectic schedule and his classmates also gave him hard time out of jealous. Later he tried to continue his education with the help of on-set tutors but finally dropped the idea of higher education as he found it to be useless and hence he didn’t attend any college.
# His Hollywood film debut was with “The Tailor of Panama” in 2001 but he came to lime light after blockbuster series of Harry Potter. Even before his debut in Hollywood film he worked for BBC One TV movie “David Copperfield” in 1999 when he was just 10 years old.
# Radcliffe revealed his health problems for the first time in 2008. He is suffering from a neurological disorder dyspraxia and it sometimes troubles him a lot making him unable to write or tie his shoelaces.
# In 2010 he gave up drinking alcohol, he gave a public statement affirming the same and stated that he was becoming too much reliant alcohol.
# When he was just 16 his portrait was unveiled in Britain’s “National Portrait Gallery” On 13 April 2006. The portrait was drawn by well known artist Stuart Pearson Wright.
# Apart from films he actively involves himself in charity works which includes his contributions to “Demelza House Children’s Hospice” & “The Trevor Project”. His contribution to Trevor Project earned him “Hero Award” in 2011, he worked on the project to create awareness of gay teen suicide prevention, he is advocating for equal rights to gays, lesbians and bisexuals. He worked for NGOs educating the people about AIDS.
# He loves to play cricket and watches crucial series without missing, he is a great fan of Indian cricket legend “Sachin Tendulkar”. Apart from cricket he loves Writing poems and published few poems in 2007 as Jacob Gershon, his pen name.
# In 2010 Forbes named him as one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood and his wealth was estimated at £28.5 million in 2010. Despite of that he never spends money on expensive fantasies, his major portion of income goes to buying books!!
# Radcliffe started to date Rosie Coker in 2012, she works as production assistant in an interview he said “She’s far too good for me!”.
