Hrithik Roshan Thumb Extra Finger
The bollywood hottest actor Hrithik Roshan carries two thumbs on his right hand. The additional thumb is a small extension which curves inwards towards his main thumb. In India the supernumerary thumb which Hrithik has on his right hand is considered to be a lucky sign. But we cann’t simply say that it is because of his luck that he acheived this much as his hard work is always visible in his movies. His fans, don’t even care for that extra finger and some fans even like it a lot.
Hrithik Roshan said: “I had this extra thumb…I stammered and in school – you know what kids are like – well, it was hell most of the time. My being quiet and sensitive came about as a consequence. I never felt normal. I always felt abnormal. I always felt I did not fit in.”
We must notice one special thing that he could get rid of that extra thumb if he wished but he left it there to be natural. He just accepts the life as it comes and has no complex problems about it. Thats the greatness of Hrithik..!!
Hrithik Roshan was diagnosed scoliosis at the age of 21 and he was told that he could never be able to dance and do stunts like all other Bollywood stars.
But this great man has made it a myth. Hrithik Roshan proved that medical science is nothing before man’s will power. This 5 feet 11 inches tall actor has made millions mad with his superb psysique despite of all above differences.

Obivously, Mr. Roshan as no problem with this thumb as he has been living with it up to this period in his life. It takes a truly humble and patient individual (in this day & age) considering his profession to accept a birth defect of his. In addition, taking in to account what he does for living, to want to remain as God made him; I most say, I commend and respect him for that. If Hrithik is fine with his thumb as it is, my opinion of it as his fan, does not matter. I would be more concern about the contents of his heart than the appearance of his hand.

I think learning how to accept our differences makes us stronger people. Without differences that caused suffering at one point in our lives we might not comprehend our own strength. We need to struggle in order to grow. This is how God marked him to stand out from the rest… and he certainly does!

I just had a son 7months ago born with two thumbs on one hand and it kind of freaked e out at first but I haven’t yet made up my mind wheater I want to have it removed or not?

I commend Hrithik for not getting surgery to remove his extra thumb. In this day and age having the character to live with your uniqueness shows what you are really made of. This sends a message to everyone who may be a little different, that it is ok and you are special, not a freak. To those that would try to make you feel inferior, the lesson I hope they would learn is that it is wrong, and that they have no power or right to keep another individual down.
My hat goes off to you Hrithik! You are a wonderful person and a superb entertainer.

In a world where we are all increasingly becoming clones and trying to look like the “american” (I cannot tell the difference between bollywood actors anymore due to the sameness of them all)it is refreshing to see some uniqueness. For God’s sake, just look at the movies in the late 70s and how “indian” they were, it’s great. It is a tragedy how american and sameish we all want to be and any variance is regarded as a “defect”. It adds character and dare I say, superiority!

I think Hrithik Roshan is unique, one of a kind, and that is why i am his inconditional fan, and i don’t think the surgery makes any difference, to me the most important thing is the character, the attitude in his life!! he is a handsome dancer and actor, simply the best in Bollywood.

i don’t really think it’s bad that he has two thumbs. It matters how he acts and he acts awsome… he’s my fav. actor. He’s the king of dancing too.I think the thumbs are pretty cool they do seem like good luck.

Hrithik is amazing with or without the extra thumb. I’ve been a fan of his for a long time, and i didn’t know about the thumb. I personally don’t care. He is an amazing actor. And whether he decides to remove his extra thumb or not, he’ll still be great.

Wow! I was born the same way… but my parents had it removed when I was two. i always wondered what it would look like. Now I know! I only have the outer part. It took me a real long time to accept being different. This is inspiring. hanks for posting this. I dont feel so alone anymore.

I admire this man who is soooo “pretty” and has so much natural talent. I am sure that there are many men who have only 1 thumb who wished they had as handsome a physique as Hrithik. He is, by far, the best dancer among all of his peers. He is a good actor and his dancer form is striking!

i think the extra thumb on sir’s hand is not extra because it is natural i too belive that natural things should be left on their nature and lord. we have no rights to play with nature and it’s order.
god by giving him this thumb has made him different from other human lifes.so he should stay like god has made him.

When I first found out about his thumb, and then saw a picture of it – it really bothered me, and I began to see it everytime, where I had never even noticed it before. As an American, I’ve been raised with a very small tolerance for correctable birth defects, and it was pretty much incomprehensible to me that he would live with this when he has the means to get it “fixed”. My admiration for him is such that I couldn’t stop wondering why he hasn’t, and I have come to realize that it is yet another sign of his amazing personality and personal integrity. By keeping it, he is telling the world, “It’s OK to be different. It’s OK to be real.” And it is proof positive that he loves and accepts himself AS IS. He said in one interview that he thanks God for his weakness and imperfections because they have made him become who he is – and who he is is someone I greatly admire. He moves me on many levels – not just because he’s sexy, but because he’s good. Thank you Hrithik for the strength of your example. You have made a real difference in my life.

Well, we’ll see if he still has his extra thumb in 50 years…Sara Jessica Parker just got rid of her chin mole, so, anything can happen…
I think it’s great that he hasn’t succumbed to the trend that’s so in right now. Where a man has to be absolutely perfect in order to be desireable. I can’t say if I like him as a person, since I don’t know him, but he’s shown tremendous acting ability and promise. Can’t wait to see more from him.
