# Jayam Ravi’s birth name is Ravi Mohan, he was born on 10th Sep 1980 in Chennai, India to Mohan and Varalakshmi.
# His father Mohan is a film editor who works in South Indian movies, his mother is a house wife. He has an elder brother M. Raja who is a well known movie director, his sister Roja works as a dentist.
# He attended “Jawahar Vidyalaya” and “Loyola College” Chennai.
# He is a trainded Bharatnatyam dancer, he learnt Bharatnatyam under noted guru Nalini Balakrishnan.
# After completion of his degree in Visual Communication he decided to take acting as his career. He attended “Kishore Namit Kapur Institute” in Mumbai, to improve his acting skills. Before acting debut he worked as an assistant director to Suresh Krishna for “Aalavandhan” in 2001.
# Jayam Ravi is a martial arts expert and well trained in Karate, Kung Fu, Muay Thai and other self defence arts.
# Ravi made his film debut with “Jayam” in 2002, the film was produced by his father & his brother M. Raja directed the movie. It was Telugu film Jayam starring Nitin and Sadha. The film was a huge hit and earned him a good fan base in his first attempt itself. His initial commercial successful movies are M. Kumaran Son Of Mahalakshmi, Daas, Mazhai etc.
