kannada actor Darshan biography facts 

#  Darshan Thoogudeep was born on 17th Feb 1977 in Mysore, Karnataka, India.

#  His father Thoogudeep Srinivas was a great actor who appeared in Kannada films during 1980s and 1990s. His mother name is Thoogudeep Meena. His father Srinivas received the second name Thoogudeepa after the movie name “Thoogudeepa” in which he acted.

#  Darshan has a brother Dinakar Thoogudeep who is now directing kannada films.

#  Though Darshan was born in filmy family his entry to the film industry was not easy. Before making his acting debut in films he was working as an assistant on movie sets and appeared on some TV shows and serials.

#  Darshan made his acting debut with “Majestic” in 2001 opposite Rekha. The film was directed by noted director P. N. Satya. The movie was a huge hit commercially.

#  His next blockbuster hit was “Kariya” in 2003 directed by Prem, the film was Prem’s directorial debut.

#  Darshan became well known for his action sequences and most of his movies are based on underworld stories, hence he received the title of “Challenging Star” from his fans.

#  After much success in his career he made his venture in film production also. He established his own production house “Thoogudeepa productions” and its first film was “Jothe Jotheyali” starring Prem, Ramya and Darshan Thoogudeep in a special appearance. The film was a commercial hit running 150 days.

#  Darshan married Vijaya Lakshmi in 2004 and the couple have a son named Vineesh.

#  In 2011 Darshan made headlines when his wife Vijaya Lakshmi gave a police complaint against him for physical violence. It created a great controversy in the film industry while some people went to the extent of seeking to ban him from kannada film industry. But actor Ambarish entered and settled the matter peacefully.
