Divya Unni biography facts

#  Divya Unni was born in 1981 in Kochi, India. Her father Unnikrishnan is a businessman and her mother is school teacher.

#  She is well trained dancer in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam. She won Kalathilakom in 1990 and 1991. Her performance was aired on Doordarshan for years. She performed stage shows around the world including America, Europe and Gulf countries.

#  After her successful career in dancing she started to appear in TV serials and south Indian movies.

#  She won several awards like “Abhinaya Tilaka Puraskaram” , “The Mother Teresa Award” “Kalathilakam” etc.

#  She first feature film was “Kalyana Sowgandhikam” opposite Dileep in 1986 when she was just 15 years old.

#  She is a vegetarian.

#  She married Sudhir Sekharan on 5th June 2002 and settled in USA. The couple gave birth to a boy, Arjun and a daughter, Meenakshi.

#  After her marriage she settled in USA and there she established “Sreepadam School of Arts” in Houston, Texas to encourage and train children in all form of classical dances.
