#  Mamta Mohandas was born on 14th November 1985 in Manama, Bahrain. Her parents are originally from Kannur, Kerala. She stands at 173 cms.

#  She attended “Indian School” in Bahrain and “Mount Carmel College” in Bangalore.

#  Before entering the film industry she did modeling for reputed companies like IBM, Kalyan Kendra, Raymonds etc.

#  Mamta has developed interest in music during her childhood days itself and she got professional training in Carnatic & Hindustani music. She sang her first playback in Telugu film “Rakhi” and she won “Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer Award” in 2007. Later she took music seriously and did plenty of work in music also.

#  Mamta, who is trained in Carnatic and Hindustani music, first sang playback in the Telugu film Rakhi,

#  Mamta made her acting debut with “Mayookham” in 2005 opposite Saiju Kurup, the movie failed at the box office but her performance was recognized by the film critics and audiences. Her next movie “Bus Conductor” alongside Mammootty was a blockbuster hit. Her next Malayalam film “Big B” and Telugu “Yamadonga” did very well in the box office.

#  She later did her debut with “Sivappathigaram” in 2006 opposite Vishal Krishna and the movie did well in the box office.

#  Mamta is a cancer survivor and very few people were aware of her health problems until 2010. She was required to cut her hair for chemotherapy sessions.

#  Mamta married her childhood friend Prajith Padmanabhan,a businessman on 28th December 2011 at Kozhikode.
