Biography and trivia
* Manisha Koirala was born on 16th Aug 1970 in Kathmandu, Nepal to Sushma Koirala & Prakash Koirala, a Nepalese politician.
* Her family has great political background, her grandfather Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, her great uncles Matrika Prasad Koirala and Girija Prasad Koirala served as Prime Ministers of Nepal for decades.
* She attended ‘Vasant Kanya Mahavidhyalaya’ in Varanasi and ‘Army Public School’ in New Delhi.
* Since from her childhood days she wanted to be a doctor but accidentally entered modeling and films.
* Bollywood actor Siddharth Koirala is her younger brother, they worked together for Anwar in 2007.
* She studied filmmaking in New York and earned a diploma in 2004.
* She is a well trained Manipuri and Bharatnatyam dancer.
* She hosted “Sawaal Dus Crore Ka” TV show on Zee TV with Anupam Kher in 2000.
* She helped Hrithik Roshan when he was in controversy of issuing anti Nepal statement in 2000.

* She met Samrat Dahal on Facebook and they got married on 19th June 2010 in Kathmandu, they went to Finland for honeymoon. Due to irreconcilable misunderstandings they divorced in 2012.
* In 2012 Koirala was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer, she underwent a surgery in USA and in December 2012 it was reported that the surgery was successful.
