#  Nicole Kidman’s birth name is Nicole Mary Kidman. She was born on 20th June 1967 Honolulu, U.S.A. to Antony David Kidman and Janelle Ann. Her father is a biochemist and an author, her mother is a nursing instructor.

#  She can claim the citizenship of both U.S.A and Australian as she was born in Hawaii while her Australian parents were in U.S on educational visas. Nicole has a sister, Antonia Kidman who is a journalist.

#  Her parents participated in protests against Vietnam war. Her parents returned to Australia when she was four and hence she did her schooling in Australia.

#  She started to learn ballet when she was just three and was actively participating in stage shows. She later attended Phillip Street Theatre in Sydney and Australian Theatre for Young People, from here she took acting seriously as a career.

#  She had to halt her studies in 1984 as her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, to support her family she worked as a massage therapist.

#  Kidman started to date New Zealand singer Keith Urban in 2005 and they married on 25th Jun 2006 in Sydney. The couple have two daughters Sunday Rose Kidman Urban born on 7 July 2008 and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban born on 28th Dec 2010.

#  Apart from Tom Cruise and Keith Urban She dated many celebrities during her film career the names include Marcus Graham, Tom Burlinson, Lenny Kravitz and another mysterious personality with whom she was secretly engaged.

#  Kidman is a Roman Catholic and during her divorce from Cruise, she said that she wanted to raise her children as Roman Catholic and not as Scientologists.

#  Apart from films she is also involved in many charity work, she raised money to help physically challenged children around the world. She was appointed as goodwill ambassador for UNICEF in 1994 and for UNIFEM 2006. United Nations honored her as a “Citizen of the World” in 2004. She participated in a Campaign for spreading awareness of breast cancer in 2006. She received Australia’s highest civilian honor on 26 January 2006.
