R. Madhavan biography facts
# R. Madhavan was born on 1st June 1970 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. His original name is Madhavan Balaji Ranganathan.
# R. Madhavan appeared in many languages like Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, kannada etc.
# He was born to Ranganathan, an executive in Tata Steel and Saroja, a manager in Bank of India. He has a sister named Devika who is now settled in United Kingdom as a software engineer.
# At the age of 22 Madhavan was awarded NCC Best Cadet in Maharashtra. He later received training in Royal Army, Air Force and Navy.
# After his degree in electronics he started to teach communication and public speaking at workshops in India.
# He took some public speaking courses and later won “Indian Championship for Public Speaking”. He later represented India at Young Businessmen Conference in Japan in 1992.
# He dated Sarita Birje for few years before getting married in 1999. She was an an air hostess at that time and attended his workshop in Maharashtra. They fell in love during these days. She works as designer for Madhavan’s films.
# Madhavan hosted many television shows the most remembered show is “Deal Ya No Deal” of Sony Entertainment in 2005.
# Madhavanis a pure vegetarian and supported PETA [People for Ethical Treatment of Animals]. Madhavan was voted as “cutest male vegetarian” in 2006 by an online poll conducted by PETA.
# He is actively involved in many charity works including creating awareness of AIDS.
# Paradox Studios Limited created mobile game with Madhavan as the lead character in 2006.
# In 2007 Infosys founder N. R. Narayana Murthy asked Madhavan to be his interviewer at the India-Singapore Exposition.

I don’t think we can have the same romance in our marriage. As far as arrange marriages go, Sarita and I are meant for each other. I can’t live without her.”
“I used to refer matrimonial ads in college to find girls so that I could hit on them. And I had a love marriage. So referring Ads wasn’t required.”

“I have always followed three principles which are very close to my heart…whether it’s for getting work, girls, or anything. First, fortune favours the brave; so you have to attempt it no matter how frightened you are. Second one is, try try and try again till you succeed; so I always try at least to put my point of views across and see what can be done. And thirdly, ‘next’; if not this one, then you will find a ‘next’ to achieve.”
“I’ve been doing exactly the same thing on every birthday. I spend the entire day with the family. I meet my parents and my wife Sarita’s parents, and we go out together.”
