Ranbir Kapoor biography facts

#  Ranbir Kapoor was born on 28th September 1982 in Mumbai, India to bollywood legends Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. He has a sister named Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.

#  Bollywood legend Raj Kapoor is his grandfather and in blood he is related to Shashi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and many other Kapoor family members.

#  He studied at “Bombay Scottish School” in Mumbai. Later he started to take acting seriously and joined “The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute” in New York.

#  Before making film debut he worked for 2 short films viz Passion to Love (2002) and India 1964 (2004). He later worked as an assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the film Black in 2005.

#  His bollywood debut was with “Saawariya” in 2007, his performance was appreciated by film critics and he won Best Male Debut award for that. His first major commercial success came in 2010 with “Raajneeti” which turned to be a blockbuster of the year.

#  Ranbir started to date Deepika Padukone in 2008 but due to individual differences the couple broke up in 2009.
