# Rani Mukerji’s birth name is Rani Mukherjee. She was born on 21st March 1978 to Ram Mukherjee and Krishna. Her father was director who founded Filmalaya Studios. She has a brother Raja Mukherjee who is currently working as a director.
# She attended “Maneckji Cooper High School” in Juhu and completed her Home Science degree from SNDT Women’s University.
# She celebrates festival of Durga Puja at Santacruz every year along with her family members. In spite of her busy work schedule she never missed such family traditions.
# She entered films with “Biyer Phool” a Bengali film in 1996, it was just cameo appearance and she did the role just to please her mother since she had no interest in films initially. Her father was not supporting her acting career and hence she turned down several offers.
# Her actual debut was “Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat” 1997 but her first commercial success came in 1998 blockbuster hit “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and she even received Filmfare Award for her performance as a Supporting actress.
# She started to learn “Odissi” dance when she was just 15 years old and now she is a well trained Odissi dancer. She was one among the judges of reality show “Dance Premier League” produced by Sony Entertainment.
# Apart from films she is involved in other philanthropic works involving women and children.
# She was listed in several surveys including “Best Bollywood Actresses Ever listing”, “Bollywood’s Most Beautiful Actresses” “Bollywood’s Best Dressed Women”, “Women of Many Faces” etc.
