# The tamil actor was born to the prominent actor Thiyagarajan and his wife Shanti Thiyagarajan in Chennai. Hence his entry to the films is not a surprise.
# He entered the film land at the very early age of 17 years while he was just studying 11th standard at Madras Christian College.
# His childhood dream was to become a doctor but ultimately became an actor, ruling millions of hearts.
# The tamil actor has a big list of his hobbies which includes listening to music, reading books , tennis, internet surfing, playing musical instruments, horse riding , snow bowling, karate , swimming , playing billiards and chess
# The actor has too many skills apart from acting. He is good Bharathanatyam exponent. He knows many martial arts like Karate , kung-fu , silambam, gymnastics , kalari , roller skating, horse riding etc. He is also a high board diver and long distance sea swimmer. The actor plays several musical instruments, it is to be noted that he studied in “Trinity College of Music” in London. It is this immense talent , skills and dedication that made him to conquer the hearts of millions of his fans.
# Before coming to the films he studied in well reputed “Trinity College of Music” in London.
# Basically he studied Computer Graphics and Multimedia.
# It is interesting to know that Prashanth didint made any attempts to do different roles or any experimenting in his films , he remained very comfortable with his usual lover boy image, which is considered to be his big mistake by the critics. While we find his juniors like Ajith Kumar , Vijay, Vikram and Surya did much experiments with their movies.
# He worked in many languages with good number of successful films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam.
# This cute talented tamil actor won Best New Appearance award of year (1990) from Cinema Express.
# The actor also won Best actor award of year (1998 ) from Roja Magazine
Prashanth Marriage and Divorce
# He married Grihalakshmi on September 1, 2005. Their happiness didnt last long. The couple couldn’t live in hormony for more than a year. Prashant filed a divorce petition in family court. Prasanth had 29 allegations against his wife which includes – her visit to club every night, coming to home late in the nights; her drinking habits etc. During the case that is in 2006 Prashant has filed a petition in family court praying the court to allow him to see his new born baby.
# In 2007 Prashanth proved his wife Grihlakshmi guilty of bigamy. He also produced marriage certificates of his wife Grihlakshmi and Venu Prasad, a Malayalee who is said have married her registered their marriage on 30th Dec 1998 with the Sub Registrar office at Ambattur . During the enquiry of police her 1st husband Venu Prasad confirmed his first marriage with Grihlakshmi. It is reported that they were in love and married even before her marriage with Prashanth, but this issue was concealed from Prashanth.
Surprisingly even Venu Prasad has married another girl. Now both Venu Prasad and Grihlakshmi are guilty of bigamy under Idian Penal Code, 1862.
# Now it seems that Prashanth has upperhand on the case. He already applied for the declaration of their marriage as void and is now thinking of taking penal actions against her. Here Grihlakshmi has moved a petition for anticipatory bail to avoid police arrest .
# On 17th Apr , 2008 the Supreme Court stayed all proceedings in the divorce petition filed by Prashant pending before a Family Court in Chennai. Grihalakshmi sought the stay of proceedings by appealing to Supreme Court on the ground that the High Court order on March 20 has caused immense miscarriage of justice.
# Grahalakshmi said: ‘The present case highlights the trauma and torture undergone by the petitioner in her matrimonial home, being driven out by the respondent [Prashant], who is an actor in the Tamil film industry, when she was barely two months pregnant. I am taking care of one-and-a-half year-old child without any moral or financial help from the respondent or in-laws.’
