# Will Smith’s birth name is Willard Christopher Smith, Jr. He was also called “The Fresh Prince” his stage name. He was born on 25th September 1968 in Philadelphia, United States to Willard Christopher Smith, Sr and Caroline. His mother was a school administrator and his father was a refrigeration engineer. When he was just 13 years old his parents got separated but actually got divorce in 2000.
# Smith started his career as a rapper in 1980s and gained popularity after “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” on NBC shows in 1990s. He was almost bankrupt before NBC show due to his underpaid income tax issues.
# His Hollywood debut was with “Where the Day Takes You” in 1992, but he gained popularity only after Six Degrees of Separation and Bad Boys. But his biggest blockbuster came in 1996 as “Independence Day”, its this movies which established him solidly in the film industry.
# In 1992 he married Sheree Zampino and they have a son Willard Christopher Smith III. The couple broke up in 1995 due to irreconcilable differences. Later in 1997 he married actress Jada Pinkett and they have two children Jaden Christopher Syre and Willow Camille Reign.
# Smith is one among the highest paid actors in Hollywood and is listed several times in “Richest 40″ of Fortune Magazine.
# He supported Barack Obama in the presidential campaign and donated $4,600 to the election campaign.
